ブラジルサンパウロのブラジル日本移民史料館で開催中(10/23/2025-12/14/2025)の着物展「歴史を紡ぐ着物に思いを馳せて」

で、拙著「着物は時代を物語る」のイラストがモニター展示されています。

山下史料館運営委員長と知り合いの慶應大学の名誉教授が私の本を１つの選択肢として勧め、イラスト年表があるので採用に至ったようです…全く面識のない立派な先生が、どうやって無名の私の本を見つけてくださったのか…🫢😱ビックリですし、地球の裏側で私のイラストが展示されてるなんて感激です☺️

コロナ禍の休校の間に日々イラストを描いていて良かったと思います。

ブラジルに親戚や友人がいらっしゃる方は是非連絡して下さい。十二単の展示もあり、ブラジルに渡った日本人の方々の想いが感じられると思います。

I have some wonderful and honorable news!

My illustrations from my book "Kimono Tells the Story of the Times" are being displayed on a monitor at the kimono exhibition "Reflecting on Kimono that Weave History," currently being held at the Brazilian Museum of Japanese Immigration History in São Paulo, Brazil (October 23, 2025 - December 14, 2025).

Apparently, the chairman of the Yamashita Museum's management committee and an emeritus professor from Keio University, whom I don't know personally, recommended my book as one of the options, and it was chosen because it includes an illustrated timeline... I'm so surprised and amazed that such a distinguished professor, whom I've never met, found my book, and I'm incredibly moved that my illustrations are being exhibited on the other side of the world! ☺️

I'm so glad I spent my time drawing illustrations every day during the school closures due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

If you have relatives or friends in Brazil, please let them know about it. There is also an exhibition of Junihitoe (twelve-layered kimono), and you can feel the sentiments of the Japanese people who immigrated to Brazil.
